I got back from Calgary last Sunday and I’m off to Win a Pig (Winnipeg) next week. Calgary was great. My first weekend, I went down with my Frenchy friend to Canmore, we stayed at her cousins place and partied it up with the hotel staff that night. Then Saturday we went skiing at Sunshine. Vero had only been skiing for 2 years, but she was super great at it. I took her down a lot of double black diamonds and she was able to do them, just a bit behind me.
On Saturday night I met up with my brother and his wife. The 3 of us went to Lake Louise to do some alpine touring. It was the most exhausting sport I have ever done in my life. I hated it the whole morning we hiked, but in the afternoon when I finally got to go down a hill on my telemark skis, I loved it. I was so hot though, I ended up hiking in just a t-shirt and my ski pants. I spent the first few days in Calgary with my brother and once my other brother came out to visit, I moved to my aunt and uncles place. The following weekend, we all met up in Lake Louise again and went skiing on the Saturday at Kicking Horse. It was the best snow ever, except we couldn’t see a thing. It was so foggy and frustrating. However I was super tired at the end of the day. Sunday I drove back to Edmonton.
We won our broomball game on Monday night. I almost scored 4 times – it the stupid post! It was the last game of the season, so it was a good time to finally improve my game. The rest of February is play off games and try-outs for the City team. Once we make that team, then we’ll be going to the provincials in March.
I joined a gym last night. It cost $65 for 4 months. Sweet deal. I’m super pumped about it. Going to the gym tonight.
I went to the landfill this morning in the minus 46 temperatures. I had so many layers of clothes on. It was craziness! But the only thing that was cold was my camera and my face. So much freaking cardboard in the load audit this morning. Eugh. Those stores!
Maybe I’ll write sooner the next time!

Today was interesting. We had a meeting with a big corporate company. Since I did the whole report that we gave to the company, I went along with my boss. Upon arriving to work in the morning, as I took off my jacket, I noticed that my boss was wearing the same shirt as I was and then the same pants and then the same shoes. Haha. Kind of embarassing. Figured that hopefully nobody would notice. Not sure if they did or not. Meh. Who cares.
The meeting went fairly well. My boss talked for most of it which was fine with me, but then at the end, he asked me if I had any additional comments to make. Ahh - put on the spot!
The next few days, I'm still going to be really busy, getting ready for my first business trip. I'm also hoping to go away skiing this weekend with some friends. Should be a lot of fun!
Not much else to say...

Hello All
Thought that maybe after almost a month of ignoring my blogsite, I should do an update.
The week before I went home for Christmas, Paul came out to visit me. We had a great week even though I was working. We went to Jasper for the weekend and enjoyed the great view. Hiked up this “mountain”, which was more like a hill to surpass a moraine to see the Columbia ice fields. It felt like a mountain since the wind was in our face the whole way up. But what a great view. I’ve never seen a moraine before like that, so it was really neat to finally see something I’ve learned so much about in school.
I went home for Christmas on the 23rd, and we had a small Christmas day. My brother’s girlfriend had her baby – Liam and all 3 of them came up for Christmas day. We didn’t do much of a present exchange, which was fine, so I just got a ticket to see the Producers.
The rest of the holidays I spent visiting or trying to visit as many friends as I could. I went to Kingston for a few days to stay with Paul and go out drinking (of course) with some great friends that I miss so much!
I came back to work the first week of January. Won a two week membership to a great gym in Edmonton. This past weekend, we had a tournament in Leduc (just 30 km south of Edmonton). Our first game was at midnight on Friday. Since our team had too many players, and another team that came to the tournament didn’t have enough, 4 of us volunteered to join the Lethbridge team. They weren’t a very strong team, so I got more than my regular amount of ice time which was great. Our goal as a team was to not encounter the mercy rule (which is once the other team beats us by 5 goals, the game is over). It was a great weekend. Not only did I get to play a lot, but I also became really good friends with the other 3 girls that volunteered to play for the other team.
Well, I’m back at work. It’s so warm here, compared to places in the East –haha. I better get back to work,
