When I say crunchy snow, I mean crunchy now. It’s minus 25 here today. Wow. Super cold. Well, actually its not too bad. Had some problems starting my car this afternoon, but it was okay. Luckily when I keep it in the garage at night, its warmer in there then outside. With lots of layers, my spring jacket is so much warmer than my ski jacket which is quite interesting. I think I need to buy some more fleece sweatshirts for this winter!
I bought some super ugly brown pants yesterday for work, so that my nice bar pants don’t get so gross while I clean up garbage.
I’m working this weekend too. Even with the big Classic Heritage hockey game on. Hopefully someone will record it for me. Luckily I’ll be done this audit on Monday morning, and then all I have to do is write it up in good copy. Woohoo.
One of my housemates is moving out to her own place next week. It’s kind of sad; since she’s from Ontario too and the same age, but she’s rarely home anyway, so I guess it’s not a big change.
Well, I guess I should go back to the store soon. Lift more gross garbage, and then drive home in my now stinky car. Haha…

I guess you could say that yesterday while doing the audit, it was interesting. Two of the bags full of fruit were too big for me to lift and had holes in them, so when I went to pick them up, they broke, and landed on me. Yuck! Then this morning when I got to the store, there were 300 loaves of bread with the waste. So much! And then this huge bin of cooked chicken – 50 pounds. I could barely lift it, but had to put the bin up against my body to life it up to the compactor, so now I smell like chicken. So I decided not to eat my breakfast- the smell totally scared me away.
Interesting eh?
I created a little program on excel today to calculate all the weights, so that at the end of the week, it will be a lot easier to get values that make sense to the store manager.
Its snowing here like mad. I had to wipe off my car this morning – had 4cm of snow on it, then the drive to work was fine, but when I came out of the store, I had to scrape my windows. And then on the drive to the office, the snow was about 6 inches deep. Should be an interesting drive back to the store this afternoon.
Well, gotta go,

Its been awhile. I’m not even sure when the last time I wrote was.
I went down to Calgary to visit my brother and his wife (ack! That still sounds weird!). They have a great place, right close to the stores, and bars and clubs. On Friday night when I first got there, we just caught up on a few things. Saturday morning we headed to the gym for a hardcore workout. In the afternoon, we spent the day exploring the main street and then at night, Greg and I headed out for a few drinks. Just a few… haha ya right! Sunday morning I played 6 intense squash games against my uncle. My bum still hurts! Stupid lunges in that sport. But I miss it so much. Then, we all had brunch at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. My cousin and her boyfriend came too.
This week, I’m really busy doing an audit on a local IGA store in Edmonton. I have to weigh everything before it is put into the garbage compactor. Its interesting – but as employees make funny comments about my job as they walk by, I guess its just not for everyone!
We won our broomball game last night. We also had to sign a form saying if we want to play in the provincials or not. They are sending two teams from Edmonton. One really strong team and one weaker team. I said I’d be interested in the weaker team. If we win, then we go to the nationals! Woohoo!

I can’t believe I put my underwear on inside out. Wow. How did I do that?
Okay. Today is actually going really well. I got to dress up for work, which is really exciting, since I haven’t done that since the first week of work. Since I wore all of my bar clothes out this whole weekend in Kingston, I couldn’t wear them to work today, so I’m wearing my new blue blouse, and nice dress grey pants. They are both stretchy, therefore much more comfortable than any of my other clothes! I want to wear them all the time! Thanks Mom for helping me buy them!
Okay… so now underwear… Twice in the past year I’ve put my thong on backwards. Once drunk, once sober. How? I have no idea, but it sure was funny/embarrassing. And today… inside out, just regular underwear. Hahaha. Such a goofball.
The science formal was great this past weekend. I really liked the hair up-do that I got. The wines and cheeses were great (so drunk), dinner was great, my boyfriend looked great, was super sweet (kind of needs some swing dance help (mom ), but other than that it was an amazing night.
I better finish up my work before I head home.

Leaving on a jetplane,
Don’t know when I’ll be in Ktown again.
Work picked up today. Got to do another load review. So interesting. This company sure throws out a lot of cardboard. Got a picture of me in front of the waste. Kind of funny.
I went to the big West Edmonton Mall again last night. Enjoyed some sushi, bought myself a scarf and some “to Melissa and Paul from Melissa” presents. Haha.
Didn’t really do much of anything else. My landlady said she’d teach me some stuff about make-up tonight. So that might be neat. Luckily, I also remembered that my friend that did it for me last year is still in Kingston. Sweet! And she did a good job – not too much which is great! Also need to pack etc.
Meh.

Pee Day
Sheesh I hate when I have this. I had it yesterday too. I just went, and then 5 minutes later…
Okay. So work is kind of boring today. I want to ask Blair if he has anything for me to do, since I finished my report yesterday, and he’s super busy, so I figure he must need some help with something, but he’s so busy. So now I don’t know what to do. I’ve been helping Keith do some filing until Blair gets back to me. I figure that way I’m busy, while waiting for him to give me my next project.
Tomorrow I have a load review to do. Blair offered to come with me, but I think I’ll go alone, so that he’ll have time to get some work done and then I’ll have my own report to work on. Ok. That’s the plan.
Last night I watched Save the Last Dance, and of course, I cried. Oh my… I complain that I only date emotional guys, and then… well, I’m an emotional moron – especially when its those happy/sad kind of movies. Haha Kerry… please take a picture!
No broomball this week. Oh... muffin. I don’t have a helmet, and next week I miss it because of my trip home. Hoping to meet up with a few of my girls on Monday night when I get back from Ktown.
Formal... 3 days
Anyway, ttyl

Blah Monday.
Kind of slept in, fortunately I managed to have a quick shower, grab a bagel, scrape my car, and leave all in 10 minutes, so I was only like 10 minutes late for work. Last day of the waste audit. Woohoo! No more garbage smells. And today, there was some bag of liquid stuff and I spilt some on me. Not cool!
Looked for a flight home. Everything is super expensive. I’m not too impressed. Is being in Markham for Christmas really THAT important? I mean, usually all we do is go skiing, so maybe everyone should just come visit me out here, we have so much snow! I’m sure the mountains are already open!
Tomorrow I’m going to do a waste load review on a compost load that is coming from the local grocery store. I’m pretty excited about that. I even get to wear my new steel toed boots!
Lunch… blah never eat A&W. I think Keith and I are super slow this afternoon at work due to the gross meal we thought would be good for lunch.
Going to the sports store tonight to look for a new helmet. I think I might just skip broomball tonight, cause I have to be at work tomorrow at 7:30am for a meeting with the compost company and with a game so late at night (10:30) and a 45 minute drive and no helmet. I’m thinking ok - decision made. But I love the game. No. Decision made. Wow.
Miss Fickle. Whats wrong with you today???

6 inches of snow??? 6 inches of snow?? What the heck?? It's only November 2nd. But we have this much snow already and it's so cold out? Sheesh! Welcome to winter in Edmonton. And it's so dry here, I finally know what they mean by a cold, dry winter. This is ridiculous! Oh well.
So, Friday night- Halloween. I went as a gumball machine. Well, at least I attempted to go as a gumball machine. People called me: balloon lady, bubble lady, but then when they asked me what I was supposed to be, and I told them and gave them one of the balloons with a gumball inside, they were super impressed with “my creativity” actually the idea was my brother’s, so I can’t take all the credit!
It was a pretty good night. I was a little tired, so wasn’t really into the drinking. But it was fun to see other people’s costumes. Some really creative ones! And then the usual - sluty ones. How sluty can u dress without being naked??
I’ve slept so much lately. I keep thinking that I’m getting sick, but I only felt sick yesterday. Weird.
Today while running in all the snow, I came across a couple walking a wheaten terrier. I was so excited. It was a really strong and big wheaten and not even close to as hyper as Tango, and even younger than Tango. I miss Tango. What a cute dog! Aww.
Okay. 5 days til I go to Kingston. Yay. I can’t wait for the sci formal. I get to hang with the best, nicest guy in the world. For a whole weekend… eugh. Just not enough time. Oh Paul.
Anyway, I better go get some food. I’m all out.
Have a good weekend.
